the meter of internal rhythm

چکیده
in islamic civilization, rhetoric is the product of a great attempt to find out the secrets of quranic language; nevertheless, the achievements of such studies have been mechanically applied to persian which, compared to arabic, has a different linguistic system and literary conventions. this approach has brought about problems in defining literary terms, internal rhythm being one of them. this article, through comparing the classical and modern understandings of internal rhythm, and also by considering the history of studies on this concept, examines the quality of meter in internal rhythm.

Inducing Meter for a Rhythm and Measures for Rhythm Complexity
We have tried to identify different problems in music cognition and find algorithmic methods and mathematical ideas for approaching these problems. The main theme was working on rhythms, and particularly focusing on syncopation and other elements that make a rhythm sound interesting, or complex. Two rather independent problems have been dealt with. The first is implementing an algorithm for fin...
متن کاملTime, Rhythm, and Meter in Music: the Gravitational Concept
For David Epstein (Shaping Time, 1995) the organisation of time is dual in nature. This duality yields two modes of structure, a clock-like organisation (chronometric time) and an organisation that is unique to a particular experience (integral time). For him, chronometric time is periodic in nature and structured by constant factors, whereas integral time is structured by elements intrinsic to...
متن کاملmeter in poetry and music a research on the basis of prosody and rhythm
rhythm is a criterion for harmonic music, just in a way that prosody is for poetry. like prosody, rhythm has meters that were called periods or rhythmic periods. rhythmic periods consist of noqrehs (silver) or stresses that are equal to words in poem. present article is to study the science of rhythm and prosody, considering the similarities and dissimilarities in their divisions such as their ...
متن کاملTesting meter, rhythm, and tempo discriminations in pigeons.
Rhythmic grouping and discrimination is fundamental to music. When compared to the perception of pitch, rhythmic abilities in animals have received scant attention until recently. In this experiment, four pigeons were tested with three types of auditory rhythmic discriminations to investigate their processing of this aspect of sound and music. Two experiments examined a meter discrimination in ...
متن کاملResolving Internal Motional Correlations to Complete the Conformational Entropy Meter.
Conformational entropy (SΩ) has long been used to theoretically characterize the dynamics of proteins, DNA, and other polymers. Though recent advances enabled its calculation also from simulations and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxation experiments, correlated molecular motion has hitherto greatly hindered both numerical and experimental determination, requiring demanding empirical and ...
متن کاملRhythm and meter in spoken-word perception 1 Running head: RHYTHM AND METER IN SPOKEN-WORD PERCEPTION Rhythmic regularity and metrical expectancy in spoken-word perception
Certain types of speech, e.g. lists of words or numbers, are usually spoken with a clear speech rhythm. Salient, stressed vowels are aligned to rhythmic points within the phrase period. The main hypothesis of this study (derived from the Dynamic Attending Theory; M.R. Jones (1976), Psych. Rev. 83, 323–355) is that listeners attend in particular to speech events at these rhythmic time points. Be...
